On Defensive transfer targert as Chelsea miss out on De Ligt who joins Bayern Munich in €77m deal.

 

A Permanent transfer have been completed by Bayern  Munich on Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt to join the club. The Dutchman De Light brings the curtain down on his three-year stint in Italy to be with Julian Nagelsmann's ranks at Allianz Arena, and will now integrate with the squad towards their 2022-23 season opener next month.

Bayern for De Light have paid an initial fee of €67 million (£57m/$69m) , with the deal set to be worth an extra €10m (£8.5m/$10m) in add-ons if certain performance and commercial-related clause are met

 A five-year contract at Bayern De Light has put pen on paper, which will see him remain at Allianz Arena through to the end of the 2026-27 season.

As confirmed by GOAL, Chelsea were also chasing De Ligt after seeing the gap of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen who left Stamford Bridge this summer, but ultimately dropped out of the race when it became clear that De Light preferered to join Bayern.
